1. Practical Magic by: Alice Hoffman

For more than two hundred years, the Owens women have been blamed for everything that has gone wrong in their Massachusetts town. Gillian and Sally have endured that fate as well: as children, the sisters were forever outsiders, taunted, talked about, pointed at. Their elderly aunts almost seemed to encourage the whispers of witchery, with their musty house and their exotic concoctions and their crowd of black cats. But all Gillian and Sally wanted was to escape. One will do so by marrying, the other by running away. But the bonds they share will bring them back—almost as if by magic…

3. The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by: Laurie Gilmore

When Jeanie’s aunt gifts her the beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town of Dream Harbor, Jeanie jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from her very dull desk job. Logan is a local farmer who avoids Dream Harbor’s gossip at all costs. But Jeanie’s arrival disrupts Logan’s routine and he wants nothing to do with the irritatingly upbeat new girl, except that he finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. Will Jeanie’s happy-go-lucky attitude win over the grumpy-but-gorgeous Logan, or has this city girl found the one person in town who won’t fall for her charm, or her pumpkin spice lattes…

Dusti’s Blurb: “Very Hallmark, very Gilmore Girls, Very Pumpkin spice. This is a cutesy little feel good and we love to see it. FMC moved to a small town from a big city to take over her aunt’s cafe where she meets a guy beloved by the town. One thing I liked was that the characters weren’t 19. There is a little angst and tiny drama like all good stories. The MMC is adorable naming his farm pets. You’ll feel good after reading this one.”

4. The Ex Hex by: Erin Sterling

Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two. That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all. Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late.

Dusti’s Blurb: “In the first 10 pages I laughed so hard. This is a great spicy rom-com to get you into the fall season and it totally gave me bewitched vibes. The FMC and her cousin are people I want to hang out with. It starts with them young putting a curse on the boy who broke the FMC’s heart and then fast forwards to 9 years later where they haven’t thought about it since. Some problems arise from that and it’s a whole cute and hilarious thing. Definitely recommend this book for a great fall read.”

5. The Simplicity of Cider by: Amy E. Reichert

Focused and unassuming fifth generation cider-maker Sanna Lund has one desire: to live a simple, quiet life on her family’s apple orchard in Door County, Wisconsin. Although her business is struggling, Sanna remains fiercely devoted to the orchard, despite her brother’s attempts to convince their aging father to sell the land. Single dad Isaac Banks has spent years trying to shield his son Sebastian from his troubled mother. Fleeing heartbreak at home, Isaac packed up their lives and the two headed out on an adventure, driving across the country. Chance—or fate—led them straight to Sanna’s orchard. Isaac’s helping hands are much appreciated at the apple farm, even more when Sanna’s father is injured in an accident. As Sanna’s formerly simple life becomes increasingly complicated, she finds solace in unexpected places—friendship with young Sebastian and something more deliciously complex with Isaac—until an outside threat infiltrates the farm.

6. A Psalm for the Wild Built by: Becky Chambers

It’s been centuries since the robots of Panga gained self-awareness and laid down their tools; centuries since they wandered, en masse, into the wilderness, never to be seen again; centuries since they faded into myth and urban legend. One day, the life of a tea monk is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of “what do people need?” is answered. But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how. They’re going to need to ask it a lot.

7. Dead and Breakfast by: Emma Hart

I remember the first time I ever saw Detective Inspector Noah George. We were seven, stupid, and he threw sand in my eye. I’m pretty sure that’s when I fell in love with him. Hey—I did say I was stupid. Summers in Fox Point, my grandfather’s seaside hometown, were all we had together. Then we turned eighteen, life happened, and he never spoke to me again. Until my grandfather’s death calls me back to the small town, only for his lawyer to tell me he’s left me my family’s dilapidated bed and breakfast that was home to many things—my first sleepover party, where my grandma taught me to cross-stitch, my first kiss with Noah… And apparently, my first dead body.

Dusti’s Blurb: “This was an unexpected 4 star read for me. It all starts when the FMC inherits her grandfather’s B&B unexpectedly. She finds a fresh body on her property and is taken in for questioning by her cop ex boyfriend. Her and her childhood best friend decide the police are not doing enough so they set out to find the culprit. This book isn’t spicy but has a little romance thrown in that is very sweet. I loved all the characters but I do believe the old lady gossip gang was my favorite. If you like a light hearted murder mystery that isn’t gory, then this one’s for you!”

8. A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire by: Sarah Hawley

Werewolf Ben Rosewood is happy with his life. One hundred percent. Everything is fine. His business, Ben’s Plant Emporium, is thriving, and he’s even expanding the shop. His anxiety disorder is…well, it’s been better, but that comes with the territory of running a business and having beastly urges every full moon, right? As for romance—who has the time? Though his family is desperate to see him settled, Ben is fine approaching forty as a single werewolf. But after drunkenly bidding on and winning a supposedly-possessed crystal on eBay one night, he finds himself face-to-face with a beautiful yet angry vampire. Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux is a rare breed—a vampire succubus born from two elite European bloodlines during medieval times. Thanks to an evil witch, she’s been stuck in a crystal since she was thirty, forced to obey orders from the possessor of the rock. Eleonore’s been dreaming of breaking the spell and severing the witch’s head for centuries. But did this witch really sell her to someone new, and for only ninety-nine cents? Eleonore would claw this werewolf’s heart out and eat it, if only the binding spell would allow her to. But Eleonore and Ben soon realize they can help each other with both vengeful and less hostile needs. And why not have a little fun along the way?

Dusti’s Blurb: “A shy nerdy werewolf who loves plants, knitting, and sweater vests buys a crystal containing a vampire. The FMC was cursed by a witch tying her to the crystal, forced to obey the owner of the crystal. Ben, the eternally single MMC, buys the stone on ebay as a joke while drinking and can not believe his eyes at the vampire that it contains. While trying to help his sister run for mayor in a town of mystical creatures he also is falling in love with the vampire and trying to find a way to free her of the curse. If you like fantasy during fall like I do, you’ll enjoy this book.”

9. Can’t help falling by: Courtney Walsh

A sweet, fast-paced rom-com about a childhood crush blossoming into an opposites-attract romance with your best friend’s irresistible older brother! Hilarious and heartwarming.

Dusti’s Blurb: “This is a best friend’s brother, fell when they were kids. MMC skipped town for 8 years after his bride left him at the altar and the FMC professed her love for him. No one knows he’s back until he rescues the FMC from a house fire. This was a cozy fall read that I actually really enjoyed. This author makes it very easy to picture the scenes while they’re happening.”

10. The Vine Witch by: Luanne G. Smith

A young witch emerges from a curse to find her world upended in this gripping fantasy set in turn-of-the-century France.

For centuries, the vineyards at Château Renard have depended on the talent of their vine witches, whose spells help create the world-renowned wine of the Chanceaux Valley. Then the skill of divining harvests fell into ruin when sorcière Elena Boureanu was blindsided by a curse. Now, after breaking the spell that confined her to the shallows of a marshland and weakened her magic, Elena is struggling to return to her former life. And the vineyard she was destined to inherit is now in the possession of a handsome stranger. Vigneron Jean-Paul Martel naively favors science over superstition, and he certainly doesn’t endorse the locals’ belief in witches. But Elena knows a hex when she sees one, and the vineyard is covered in them. To stay on and help the vines recover, she’ll have to hide her true identity, along with her plans for revenge against whoever stole seven winters of her life. And she won’t rest until she can defy the evil powers that are still a threat to herself, Jean-Paul, and the ancient vine-witch legacy in the rolling hills of the Chanceaux Valley.

11. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by: Sangu Mandanna

Escape to a whimsical world where a solitary witch embraces an eccentric family, magic, and unexpected love in this heartwarming, fast-paced tale set in Britain.

Dusti’s Blurb: “This book has all the cozy fall vibes. A witch named Mika is taught to think witches have to go through life basically alone and not tell anyone you’re a witch. At thirty years old she has always lived by the rules. Until she gets an odd message WITCH NEEDED. Intuition and curiosity sends her to the messenger’s door step. They do indeed need a witch. Mika finds herself and a family in the process. This book is heartwarming. There is a little romance sprinkled in but not the entire plot.”
